Often when we want to make changes to our lives the niggling voices of fear and doubt start to sing their chorus and if given enough power and attention, can have us scurrying back to the security of whatever it was that we wanted to change.
Many times, the fears and doubts centre around our need for survival e.g. how will I pay the rent, feed myself, etc. and that can make the process of change seem like a struggle. Believe me, I’ve had my fair share of these mind-battles, yet when I’ve set my intentions to create changes in my life, I’ve been blessed with the right assistance and support to enable me to take a leap of faith into what I know is another magical step on the next part of my life journey. Sometimes the assistance I need has arrived in an unexpected shape or form but it has always arrived.
So tell me, does the Universe really provide what we need when we need it? I believe so and there’s a story that illustrates this point so well...you may know it already.
One day there was a flood in a small, mountain village and one of the villagers — an old man — was stuck in his house, surrounded by water. All around him people were fleeing from their homes to safety.
As the flood waters intensified, more of his house filled with water and he was forced to move from the ground floor to the first. He looked out of his window and all of a sudden a man in a boat appeared shouting “Hurry! Get in the boat!” The old man refused saying: “No I’m OK; God will save me.” The man in the boat shrugged and went off to save someone else.
As the flood waters continued to rise, the old man made his way to the second floor of his house and once again looked out of the window to see if God was going to save him. All of a sudden, another man in a boat arrived and shouted: “Hurry! Get in the boat!” Once again the old man replied: “No it’s OK; God will save me.”
As the water levels rose around him, the old man was eventually forced to climb onto the roof of his house in order to escape the flood. Yet again another man in a boat arrived and shouted: “Hurry! Get in the boat!” and once again the old man refused, firm in his belief that God would save him. In the end the flood waters rose so high that the house was washed away and the old man died.
When the old man arrived in Heaven he went to see God and asked: “Why didn’t you save me from the flood? I’ve believed in you all my life and you let me die.” God looked lovingly at the old man and gently said: “I sent 3 men in boats to rescue you and you refused each one.” The old man hung his head and wept as he realised that God had indeed tried to help him yet he had failed to recognise the help when it arrived.
The Universe is always placing opportunities, people and situations in our lives at exactly the time we need them. When your intentions are clear, the Universe, God, Synchronicity — or whatever you choose to call it — has a way of assisting you by placing you in the perfect circumstances so that you can manifest your intention. Your task is to simply pay attention to what shows up in your life and act on it, because the actions you take (or don’t take) are the key to achieving (or not achieving) the outcomes you want. Without action there’s inertia, procrastination, fear and avoidance...I know; I’ve been there?
When you have the courage to take action on your intention, your soul just opens up and life becomes more joyous. When you’re open to the flow of life, it’s easy to let go of the resistance that may have been holding you back from making whatever changes you want. But you’ve got to be willing to do your part to enable the Divine magic to work for you.
So how can you assist the Universe with helping you to create whatever you want in life?
As I mentioned before, the Universe is always assisting us in creating the life we’re living by tapping into the energy and emotions we’re allowing to flow from us. If you’re feeling fearful and scared, the Universe will send you more of that energy. If on the other hand you’re feeling joyous and courageous, more of that energy will flow to you too. Yet there are ways that you can assist the Universe in giving you the support you need to take the necessary steps on your journey to success.
Remember that you’re an example of Divine energy in motion, worthy of no more or less than any other living being on this planet. You hold a unique position in this Universe and have a profound purpose. The skills and talents you possess are not yours by accident...they’re yours by design and it’s your duty to share them with the world and use them for the Highest Good. Don’t waste time and energy comparing yourself to others; instead nurture your specialness and be proud to be you.
So allow yourself to receive the abundance that’s all around you now. My Mum (God rest her soul) used to say: “There’s a blessing in every situation,” and I agree completely. Even in the bleakest of circumstances, there’s always a sliver of light that, if we keep our attention on it, can keep our hearts open long enough to receive the blessings that are always just around the corner

I have recently read a book about the basic priniples of Tao teachings, and the message felt quite similar to the one of your beautiful words, Soul Sista.
We really don’t have to look for wisdom in our brain, for it is endlessly provided by the Universe. All we have to do is to trust this profoundly, and allow Divinity to fill our heart.
I really appreciate you (all) being my “soulmate” !
Walker.
