Welcome to Open Lounge, a website dedicated to the free sharing and discussion of ideas.

My name is David, I’m the site manager of Open Lounge. The site is a ‘project in development’ so please excuse any rough edges as we work to continually grow and polish the content, structure and flow.

Open Lounge is a virtual meeting place for like minded, out-of-the-box thinkers and people engaged in agenda-less contribution to humanity and the planet, at both a local and global level.

Another way to put that is: Open Lounge is primarily a forum of expression for a community of contributors, whose motivation is to make a meaningful and positive contribution to YOU!

 

Navigation

The site is quite complex, hosting many different aspects: blogs, charitable projects, events, forum and the Lunar Game. We’ve done our best to make the navigation as simple and straight forward as possible, but you may need a few minutes to learn how to find your way around.

There are 2 key menus: the main menu at the very top of EVERY page that looks like this:

and the sub menu which appears just below the coffee cup and looks something like this:

The main menu will never change, it is the same, no matter which page you are on.

The sub menu will change, or even disappear, depending on the section of the site and the page your are looking at.

The breadcrumbs at the left of the sub-menu tell you where you are in the site, relative to the home page (foyer).

If you get lost, or get stuck, feel free to search the help and faq sections. The links are in the main menu.

 

The Blogs

Each contributor offers their thoughts and insights via a blog (their personal Lounge), in the form of articles, images, video and audio. You can access any contributor’s Lounge from either the main menu or via the ‘switch blog’ menu in the breadcrumbs if you are already viewing one of the blogs.

Because each contributor has an almost identical looking space on the website, you might sometimes get confused about just whose section of the site you are looking at. To find out whose blog you are currently reading, just look at the name at the top of the screen next to the coffee cup, or see the breadcrumbs in the menu just below the coffee cup.

To get back to the site “home page”, simply hit the ‘Foyer’ link.

Each contributor blog has a sub menu with links to their Front Room (about me page), Lounge (the actual blog), Private Client Work (if they offer that) and a contact link for the blog owner.

There is also a link to the contributors personal philanthropic project, if they are currently leading one.

 

ALL content is FREE.

Contributors hold nothing back. These are not ‘tasters’ or ‘teaser articles’ intended to influence you into purchasing some product or service. These are real people, sharing real ideas to help, inspire and entertain you, just because they enjoy doing so!

Some of our contributors do offer private client work and charge for their personal time. In this case, they will post the relevant details on their ‘Private Client’ page on their blog.

If you’d like to comment on anything that’s posted on Open Lounge, you’ll need to register with the community first. You can do this from any of the blogs, just click the ‘register’ link in the main menu.

The contributor community will continue to grow over time, so if you don’t make a connection with anyone on this visit, check back later to see who’s new.

 

The Lunar Game

The Lunar Game has an entire blog for itself. Each month (or Lunar Cycle), players from all across the world gather to participate together in some aspect of personal or spiritual development work, aligned to that particular month’s Lunar Game.

Go to that section of the site for much more info (what’s it all about, how to play, how to contribute etc) or simply follow along until you are ready to play yourself.

 

Open Lounge Events

As previously stated, Open Lounge is a virtual meeting place for like minded, out-of-the-box thinkers and people engaged in agendaless contribution to humanity, at a local and global level. Open Lounge Events are the REAL WORLD equivalent, where we actually get together in person, to make new friends, learn from each other and most importantly, have fun.

Visit this section of the site to see where and when future events are planned, and experience past events in the website’s virtual environment.

 

Open Lounge Projects

Whilst the Open Lounge philosophy is one of agenda-less contribution without financial motivation, the site does generate income through donations and also contributors donate half of all money earned from client work to the Open Lounge Fund. After site running costs have been deducted, all this money is directed into philanthropic projects, designed to contribute to some aspect of this wonderful world we all share.

Each Contributor on the site is also a project leader, managing and co-ordinating the efforts within their personal project. From time to time, Open Lounge as a community will take on additional projects.  We will post this information on the site as we go, as well as how the money is disbursed.

There is no corporate interest or shareholders behind Open Lounge. No profit motive, only the desire and commitment to make the most positive difference to our communities, both locally and globally.

 

The Forum

Many of our visitors would love to contribute to Open Lounge but don’t wish to take on the responsibility and commitment of being a full time OL Contributor. This is one of the purposes of the forum. Feel free to get involved, start topics and threads and play along.

Of course, we retain the right to delete or remove posts and threads that are not in alignment with OL philosophy. Please see the forum rules if you are unsure.
