Mason Fountain is 7 years old and has a brain tumour.
He is an inspiring little man, here is his story.
My name is Mason and I am 7 years old. I was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour in April 2010 and have been through chemotherapy and lots of operations and procedures over the last 20 months. I’ve spent allot of time in the hospital and at home trying to be a strong little man. With the support of my family and friends, and the lovely nurses and special Doctors, all the treatment is starting to work. Finally after all these months my tumour has stopped growing and is actually showing signs of shrinking.
Since my diagnosis, I have met allot of other children going through the same thing and I have decided I want to make as many children as possible smile and stay as positive as me. And so, I’ve picked up my magical wand and cape and begun my magical quest to spread the word of positivity and to always have hope no matter what. My aim is to gain support with the help of my family and to fund raise as much money as possible so that we can make other children’s wishes come true.
However, I cannot complete my quest alone, and will need the support of you along the way. Together, we can make children’s dreams come true and make them see that even the impossible is possible.
Another remarkable person is my friend, Angela Gregg – here looking fabulous in her beautiful blue evening gown – at a glamourous fundraising gala event she organised at The Big Top in London last November raising 10′s of 1000′s of pounds for Brain Tumour UK.
Angela also has a brain tumour.
Her lust for life, passion for helping people and sense of fun truly inspires me. A few weeks ago, in a moment of inspired thought, she set up @masonsmagic on Twitter. Within days @masonsmagic had 1000′s of followers, many celebrities. Now, in less than a few weeks Mason has over 10,000 followers and is successfully raising funds to help support others who have brain tumours.
Angela is a shining example of how being passionate about making a difference and actually doing something about it, does change lives.
On Tuesday 24th January in their home town of Ipswich, U.K. we are holding a fundraising event ‘The Magical Law of Attraction’ seminar at Kesgrave Community Hall. We would love your support. For further details [click here]
Cuddles with Mum & AngelaSo, today was results day. After 20 months of Chemotherapy i have about 20% shrinkage in my tumour. This means i have a long and tired fight ahead of me and now need all the strength i can get. So once again, i am going to ask for your help. I need you all to just think about helping my cause to make other children happy, when their happiness is no longer shining bright. If you can help or donate even just £1 to my cause, that can make someone’s wishes come true, and would put the smile back on my face.
My blog is short today, and i wanted to post a picture of me, mum and my good friend Angela.
This picture reminds me how much i am loved, and how no matter what, we all continue to ‘think positive.’ So, no matter how your day has been, turn that frown, upside down. To support Mason and purchase wrist bands [click here]
